Learning Journeys
Social Studies Learning Journeys
Learning Journeys are key Student Development Experiences (SDEs) that
provide all students with meaningful opportunities to learn beyond the
classroom. Carefully curated across levels, these experiences enable students
to explore their Singaporean identity through the lenses of arts, culture,
and heritage.
Aligned with the Primary Social Studies and Character and Citizenship
Education (CCE) syllabuses, these learning journeys are designed to deepen
students’ understanding of national identity while nurturing important
citizenship dispositions. Each learning site is thoughtfully selected to
complement curriculum content, ensuring purposeful and relevant learning.
Curriculum time is set aside for these experiences as part of Social Studies
Field-based Learning (FbL), allowing students to connect classroom learning
with real-world contexts in an engaging and authentic way.
