OUR VISION
Nurturing Thriving Learners who grow with confidence and curiosity, and Compassionate Changemakers who use language to connect, understand, and create positive impact in their communities.
OUR APPROACH
The STELLAR 2.0 framework - Singapore's enhanced pedagogical approach for English Language Learning and Reading - is implemented to create enriching experiences where students engage with quality literature, authentic contexts, and meaningful discussions that build both academic excellence and strong character foundations.
At SDPS, students are nurtured and inspired through values-driven, innovative, and enriching English learning experiences that foster well-being, build character through meaningful literature, and develop lifelong communication skills that empower students to thrive with purpose and lead positive change.
|
Building Empathetic Communicators Through English Week celebrations and school-based oracy programmes, students develop confident speaking and listening skills while learning to communicate sensitively across diverse communities and cultural contexts. |

Nurturing Discerning Readers At SDPS, students develop into discerning readers who process and evaluate information with discernment, distinguishing facts from falsehood while building a broad world view. They learn to respond to information closely and critically according to purpose, audience, context and culture. Read & Grow @SDPS engages students with current affairs and diverse perspectives using the "I see, feel, think and wonder" thinking routine. At upper primary, students read Little Red Dot newspaper to explore local and global issues, developing critical thinking skills as they analyse different viewpoints and distinguish facts from opinions. WOW@Springdale Library cultivates lifelong reading habits through uninterrupted reading periods, book talks, and guided library visits where students develop discernment in text selection and evaluation. |
|
Inspiring Creative Inquirers Students apply critical literacies to explore real-world issues, gathering and synthesising information from diverse print, non-print and digital sources. Through collaborative learning experiences, they co-construct knowledge and develop solutions in both familiar and new contexts. |
