Hari Raya Celebration
On Monday, 1 July 19, our school celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The focus of this year’s event was on the significance of the month of Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri to the Muslim community.
On the day of celebration, students learned about the month of Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri through the experience of one of our students who shared a vlog on how his family observed the fasting month and celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It was indeed a very informative vlog. A big Thank you to the child and his family for producing the video. The staff and students of Springdale Primary School also presented a touching video clip wishing everyone a “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”. For the finale, students were mesmerized by the song and dance item put up by our teachers.
For the recess activities, students had fun trying on the Malay traditional costumes and had pictures taken with friends of different races. They also tried weaving 2-D ketupat. The weaving of ketupat taught them important values such as patience and perseverance.
Through this event, Springdale Primary School hoped that students have gained more insights on the significance of the month of Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri to the Muslim community, hence appreciating Singapore’s multicultural diversity.
Springdale Primary School would like to thank the Parent Volunteers and those who had contributed in making the event a success.
