Hari Raya Celebration
The Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration was held on Mon, 10 Jul 17. During recess, students were engaged in an activity where they could experience donning Malay traditional costumes. They took photographs with friends from different races at a photo booth manned by our Parent Volunteers. A big thank you to the Parent Volunteers who assisted in engaging our students in this fun and meaningful activity.
During Assembly, the P4 Malay Language students performed their debut ‘Dikir Barat’, a Malay cultural art form. Our teachers also made special appearances and performed with the students, making it an awesome performance. There was also a fashion parade led by the P3 students and teachers highlighting the different Malay traditional costumes and ornaments worn with them.
During the finale of the celebration, students participated in mass singing to a pre-recorded song & dance item by the P2 Malay Language students. The students enjoyed the celebration as a school and gained more awareness and insights into the meaning and practices of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Through this celebration, we believe they have developed greater appreciation for Singapore’s multicultural society.
