Hari Raya Celebration

This year’s Hari Raya celebration was held on Mon, 9 Jul 18. Our theme this year focussed on Etiquettes of Visiting. During the Assembly Programme, some P4 students performed their debut ‘Dikir Barat’, a Malay cultural art form, performing the song ‘Salam Aidilfitri’. It was an amazing opening performance to start the celebration! Students were showed a video skit by the P5 teachers & students demonstrating the etiquettes during house visits on Hari Raya. There were also many well wishes captured on videos for our Malay students & staff that day. Staff & students were very spontaneous which made the video very memorable.

For the finale, the audience were entertained by some P2 & P3 students who performed a song & dance item. The school believe that through this celebration, our students have gained more awareness & insights into the meaning & practices of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. More importantly, the celebration had taught them to be appreciative towards the multi-cultural diversity in Singapore.

Besides the Assembly Programme, the Malay Language department also set up a photo booth during recess. Students donned Malay traditional costumes & took photographs with friends of different races. The photo montages were shown during Assembly. A big ‘Thank You’ to the Parent Volunteers & students from the Media Club CCA who had assisted in engaging our students through this fun activity.
