Serving the Community from 2013
Springdale Primary School is situated in the north-eastern part of Singapore. It is located within the Sengkang West constituency and is part of the East 3 Cluster Schools. It is one of seven new primary schools to commence operation in Jan 2013 with only the Primary 1 cohort.
The Principal appointed to lead the school is Mrs Lee-Koh SC and co-leading with her is Mr Tan Chin Kee, Vice-Principal. Both Mrs Lee-Koh and Mr Tan have about 20 years of education experience in schools and they are parents themselves with children in local primary and secondary schools.
As a new school, Springdale Primary School is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to deliver holistic education to every Springdalite who joins the school. The school is designed with the theme Cohesion & Inter-Play; Changing Pedagogic Approaches. There is greater emphasis in pupil-centred learning, with pockets of spaces to form a stimulating environment to promote collaborative & peer learning. Spaces and colours are also skillfully intertwined to stimulate mental creativity in young children to make learning fun.
With the introduction of new norms such as ‘home in the school experience’ and ‘outdoor experiential learning’ areas, it is evident that the school would also be experimenting with pedagogical approaches that are grounded on research.
Both administrative and teaching staff have been recruited and posted to the school to ensure smooth operation from day one. The school is staffed with qualified teachers to teach our Primary 1 cohort. More staff will be recruited when our enrolment increases over the next few years.
The school has got off to a good start on 2 Jan 2013 when we welcomed our pioneering cohort of Primary 1 pupils and parents.
We look forward to serving every Springdalite, and in collaboration with our parents and community partners.
